Moonlight Ale is back on now!
The ever popular Moonlight Ale is back on at the Duke. This beer has been brewed using a special blend of malts and English Fuggles and Susan hops to give a beautiful golden colour, lingering taste and 'toasty' aroma. ABV: 4.5%.

Duke Receives Congatulatory Letter from Mayor!
The Duke has received a letter from Councillor Chris Turrell, the Mayor of the Borough of Bracknell Forest, congratulating the Duke on appearing in the Good Beer Guide again, for 2012. The Mayor, a long-time CAMRA member wished to pass on his best wishes and continuing success for the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke is going Greener!
We have changed our waste disposal company to a local Ascot firm called Shorts. With an ever increasing positive environmental policy, the Duke wanted to do a bit more than 'the usual. So the Duke is now recycling all cardboard and paper and glass, with frequent collections organised. Shorts is a large Ascot-based firm who specialise in recycling. |

The Duke will be featured in the Good Beer Guide 2012, following on from the entry this year, 2011.
The Good Beer Guide, which is considered the Bible for good pubs and ales around the country, lists a selective number of pubs it considers to fulfil the requirments for inclusion in to the established directory. |

Bars & Restaurant Refurbished
The pub went through a 3-week redecoration in November, which was completed well on-time.

Cask Marque - Top Marks Awarded!
This week, so close to Christmas, the Duke had its latest unannounced visit for the real ales to be checked & tested for the highest standards expected. This enables the Duke to keep its Cask Marque status. All the real ales were checked for their temperature, appearance, aroma and taste, and all received full marks: 5/5 each. Cask Marque - Awarded for excellence in the serving of cask beer. |

Noël Real Ale - a Real Winter Warmer!
Noël Real Ale is back on for the festive season. Launched in 1987 and named in honour of the present Chairman's father, Sir Noel Arkell, who was born on Christmas Day. The strongest of Arkell's Ales, this full-bodied beer is cleverly disguised by its distinctive light colour, and slides down very easily, leaving drinkers with a warm, tingling feeling. Today, 10th Oct, we held the 90th birthday party of Dennis 'Captain Mac' McCaig.
Dennis is a regular customer of the Duke and today he enjoyed the company of numerous friends and family for a celebratory lunch at the Duke. Dennis was 249 Squadron leader in the R.A.F. He valiantly fought in the Battle of Britain during World War 2 and has received an M.B.E and an A.F.C for his services. Read more here. |

Jolly Boys' London-Paris Bike Ride...
The Charity bike ride by the Jolly Boys was completed in good time, with the guys riding 80 miles a day.
The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Charity will be happily benefiting from the Jolly Boys' charity bike ride as well as last month's fund raising quiz night @ the Duke. Well done, guys! |

The Duke hosted a Hog Roast on Friday, 29th April - the Royal Wedding Day! With the best DJ in town spinning the discs with a special Motown mix, the evening was a memorable one. The Royal wedding was shown on the plasma screens all day, then the hog roast & buffet was from 7pm 'til late.

Blue Sapphire 'Royal' Real Ale - 4.7% ABV
Arkell's Brewery has launched a new Real Ale in celebration of the Royal Wedding. The name of the ale was chosen by a 10 year-old named Millie, who name the ale after Kate Middleton's engagement ring. Read more here.

Chopper Harris Night - Monday 11th April
The Duke's 4th Chopper Harris night was in celebration of the 1971 Cup Winners Cup win. Chopper came to the Duke together with Peter 'the Cat' Bonetti and John Dempsey, both also members of that historic cup winning team.
